Lighting Up Lives: A Look Back at the Tree of Lights Campaign

Dec 30, 2023

As we approach the final days of the year, we reflect on the bright journey of the Salvation Army's Tree of Lights campaign. It's a story of hope, kindness, and community spirit, and a gentle reminder that there's still time to make a difference. (Donate Today)

A Goal to Warm Hearts

Our goal this year is ambitious but vital: raising $7.2 million to provide essential services and support to the community all year long.

The funds raised are a lifeline for year-round social services, including support for veterans, seniors, youth programs, families, and addiction treatment services.

Gratitude for Leadership

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our co-chairs, Ozzie Smith and Yolonda Lankford. Their unwavering support has been a beacon of hope, guiding us through this campaign.

Angel Tree Triumphs

Our Angel Tree program, a cornerstone of our campaign, was a resounding success, with 5,151 angels adopted in St. Louis and over 8,000 across the Greater St. Louis region. This would not have been possible without the 617 volunteers who dedicated 2,377 hours to bring smiles to thousands of children.

The Sound of Generosity

Our bell ringers, the unsung heroes, were present across the community, their bells ringing as a call to action. Each ring was a reminder of the difference a small act can make.

Sports and Spirit

The SLU Billikens game on December 16 was more than a sporting event; it was a testament to the generosity of our community. The teddy bear toss was a highlight, with fans donating hundreds of toys for children and young people.
