The Salvation Army is proud of its 112 years of service to those in need in the Coastal Bend area. The organization offers people the opportunity to grow, learn and become self-sufficient in our challenging society through Corps activities, social services assistance, family services, youth character building and mentoring programs, disaster assistance and a myriad of other programs to provide assistance to those in greatest need. As the Army continues to serve the community, significant progress has been made in developing plans for the expansion of services to address the under-met needs of men, women and children who simply need a helping hand and a message of hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Our new Center of Hope has been laid out in two phases:

Phase 1:

This facility will house our families, veterans and single women. The business center and administration offices will also be located here.

Phase 1 is under constriction and is projected to be complete by December, 2020. However, this is not fully funded. We are $1.2 million short of our needed funds for this goal.

Phase 2:

This facility will house single men. The maintenance and disaster warehouse and the Food Pantry will be located here.

Phase 2 plans, drawings, and estimated cost is currently underway.

With both of these facilities, The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend will be able to serve those who come to us for assistance from one location. We will be able to house more people than we currently can, and we will be better equipped to help everyone in need who comes through our doors.
