The Salvation Army Offices Closed on Wednesday Due to Continuing Effects of Historic Weather

The administrative offices of The Salvation Army of Galveston County and the Social Service office and Boys and Girls Club in Texas City will remain closed on Wednesday, February 17 due to lack of power and the priority of caring for people in the emergency shelter at 601 51st street in Galveston. The shelter has exceeded its capacity and has struggled since Monday morning with no power. Donations of flashlights, LED lanterns, extra batteries for those devices, D and AA batteries are needed and can be dropped off at the shelter entrance anytime.

As always, The Salvation Army is grateful to the community for their provision of resources that allow the doors to be open for those in need.
