What is a Comfort Kit?

A Comfort Kit is a set of personal hygiene items that The Salvation Army passes out to each of its residents, as well as to individuals who attend the nightly Soup Kitchen. Comfort kits contain personal hygiene items, including but not limited to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, tooth paste, and deodorant. The simple comfort provided by these Comfort Kits is something that can easily be taken for granted for those who have not had to go without.

Last year, The Salvation Army of El Paso distrubuted 4,269 Comfort Kits; this would not have been possible without donations from the community.

Please consider donating hygiene items for the Comfort Kits.

About The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 81 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
