Last year the community teamed up with The Salvation Army to provide 2,343 gifts for our Angel Tree Program. Angel Tree is an emergency holiday assistance program that we provide annually to those in need ranging from infants to children age 18. At The Salvation Army we believe everyone deserves a little Christmas. It is now that time of year again and Christmas is right around the corner. The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Program (“Angel Tree”) is underway and will begin taking applications  for the following dates:

Application Dates:

October 24 – 28, 2016

November 7 – 11, 2016

Days/Times:

Monday – Friday

8:30am – 11:30am

Monday & Thursday

6:00pm – 8:00pm

Where:

The Salvation Army Chapel

2101 S. Van Buren

(Corner of Van Buren & 21st)

Please Bring The Following Verifications To Qualify:

Valid Pictured I.D.

Social Security Card or Government I.D. for all household members

Birth certificate for all children 18 and under

(if child is not a U.S. citizen also proof of school enrollment);

Proof of school enrollment for children 15 to 18

If you are not parent of child have proof of custody papers for child/children;

Proof of all monthly bills

Proof of income for all household members (including SNAP/TANF)

2016 Tee Off for Toys Golf Tournament

You are invited to sponsor or play in the 6th Annual “Tee Off for Toys” Golf Tournament.  This tournament will take place on Monday September 26th, 2016 at the beautiful and scenic Hideaway Lake Golf Course.  Hosted by the Tyler Professional Firefighters Association, this four player scramble benefits The Salvation Army’s annual Angel Tree program.
Each player is also asked to bring an unwrapped toy ($10 and up value) with them on the tournament day.

The Salvation Army Back To School Assistance Program benefits hundreds of children in our Amarillo area each year. Last year we were able to provide over 400 children with school supplies, a backpack, a brand new pair of shoes, and socks to enter into the school year. There is a maximum number of assistance available so please make sure to attend one of the 2 sign-up days available if you are in need of assistance this year.

Collecting School Supplies For Children In Need

Back To School Drive Walmart 2016

The Salvation Army Back To School Drive benefits hundreds of children in our Amarillo area each year. Last year we were able to provide over 400 children with school supplies, a brand new pair of shoes, and socks to enter into the school year. Saturday, July 30th, 2015 at Walmart (5730 W. Amarillo Blvd.) from 11:00am – 2:00pm, The Salvation Army will be taking a collection for school supplies. We will be giving away FREE hotdogs for parents who donate new supplies and a FREE ticket to the bounce house (on location) for their child(ren). Viva Media will be airing live, have games available, and they will also be giving away prizes.

People can still contribute by making school supplies donations. There are 6 places around town for individuals to drop off school supplies between July 1st – July 29th, 2016:
