Grocery Assistance
The Salvation Army food pantry provides groceries for individuals & families in need. Clients can come every 30 days for this service. The pantry is open on Wednesday and Friday (see office hours above) and is also open for emergency purposes. The Salvation Army is also the only pantry in Big Spring that is open after normal work hours. This gives working individuals a chance to come and receive assistance without missing work.
Financial Assistance
The Salvation Army provides emergency financial assistance up to $75. This type of assistance can be used for utilities, rent, transportation, prescriptions, etc… Clients can receive this type of financial assistance once a year depending on the case and funding. Any form of financial assistance depends on community funding and is not guaranteed.
Clothing Vouchers
The Salvation Army can provide clothing vouchers for individuals every 90 days. Our vouchers are good for shopping at the Chalet.
Referrals to Other Agencies
The Salvation Army understands that there are many needs in a community and no one organization could possibly meet them all. We collaborate with other local agencies to find the right help in times of crisis.
