Our Programs
Camp Programs
Each summer we give Texas children from impoverished neighborhoods and low-income families a chance to escape their everyday lives and enjoy an opportunity to make new friends in an exciting, loving and spiritual atmosphere. Camp Hoblitzelle, a 1,000+ acre ranch in Midlothian, TX, offers children the opportunity to swim, play sports, attend Bible classes, go horseback riding and much more. Every evening we have special programs for the campers. The kids love participating in Wacky Olympics, Rodeo night and a Hawaiian Luau Pool Party. Here, children learn confidence and self-reliance; gain skills such as individual and team sports, team-building, and art, most importantly they encounter God in a new, exciting way. It is our goal to share the love of God with each and every child who comes through our gates, and every summer many children make a decision to live a life pleasing to God here at Camp Hoblitzelle. Every day begins and ends with a focus on God. Each morning begins with a praise and worship time and Bible lesson, and every evening ends with a devotional at the camp’s outdoor chapel.

Impacting Lives
After spending a week at Camp Hoblitzelle last summer, a little girl from Crystal City got off the bus and ran to her mother. Her mother gently pulled her aside and began to explain to her that her father had left them, that they had no money and that she didn’t know how they were going to make it. The little girl immediately pulled out her Bible, which was marked with the verses that she had studied all week at camp. She told her mother, “Its ok… God provides… He fed 5,000 people with loaves and fishes, he will take care of us.”
The little girl’s mother contacted Cindy Wells, our service unit director for that region, to find out who gave the Bible to her daughter. She came to our office in Crystal City and met with our social worker. The social worker talked about Jesus Christ with her and what He could do in her life if she accepted Him as Savior. The little girl’s mother then prayed and accepted Christ into her life. She was given a Bible in Spanish and is now attending a small Baptist church near their home with her daughter and other family members.
