Our Programs

"...For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me."

We are deeply committed to meeting the needs of those around us. Our commitment to service is driven by five core values:

mainpassion

Passion

Our mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

maincompassion

Compassion

Caring for the poor. Feeding the hungry. Clothing the naked. Loving the unlovable. Befriending the friendless.

mainbrave

Bravery

Going into places others prefer to avoid: impoverished neighborhoods, jails and prisons, hospital rooms and nursing homes, and the immediate scene of disasters.

mainuplifting

Uplifting

We serve as a place of hope. When every other light is extinguished and every other star has gone dark, this one gleam shines steadily and clearly in the darkened sky: "If I can only get to The Salvation Army, they will do something for me."

maintrustworthy

Trustworthy

For those who want to positively affect their world, The Salvation Army is the charity that maximizes contributions by using 83 cents of every dollar* donated to provide direct services to the less fortunate.

Today in Texas, we have more than 155 Officers, all of whom are ordained ministers; 1,600 employees; and thousands of volunteers, all committed to furthering the mission of The Salvation Army and helping those in need.
