 Airline Miles

Donate Miles
United Airlines Charity Miles Program
Mileage Plus Miles

There is now another way to give to The Salvation Army. Through United Airlines Charity Miles
Program, Mileage Plus members can donate accrued miles enabling The Salvation Army to move personnel quickly in time of disaster, provide travel for those in need of emergency medical care outside of their area, and reduce administrative costs by providing travel for staff.

How it works:

  1.        Set up a United Airlines Mileage Plus account, by contacting United at 1.800.421.4655

  2.        Whenever you fly United Airlines or on a Star Alliance carrier, be sure to show them your United mileage card or inform them that you are a member and they will credit your miles to your account.

  3.        To make a minimum donation of 1,000 miles to The Salvation Army, call United at 800.421.4655 and request that your Mileage Plus miles be transferred into The Salvation Army's account.

To donate your miles call: 1-800-421-4655

Gifts in Kind

Many individuals want to contribute to The Salvation Army through a non-monetary means. This
can be hours of service, surplus goods, etc. The Salvation Army will accept any usable item for use
in our programming. These resources have proved to be extremely beneficial to our work and help
us keep our costs down.

If you would like to donate a gift in kind please contact your local Salvation Army.

 Thrift Stores

The Salvation Army Thrift Store

Where Your Purchase Always Helps Us Help Others

The Salvation Army Thrift Stores represent the heart of our ministry: simply put, to help others in
their time of need.

Our thrift stores help us accomplish this by providing quality clothing, furniture and other goods to
the community at bargain prices. The proceeds generated from those sales go to support the social service programs of The Salvation Army.

In the larger cities, such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston, the funds
generated support our Adult Rehabilitation Centers, a residential alcohol and drug treatment
program for men. In the mid and small size communities, the funds support the daily operations
and programs such as emergency rent, food and prescription assistance.

In addition, we often will provide a voucher to someone through our social services program,
allowing them to access clothing, furniture and/or house wares at the thrift store at no cost. These vouchers may be offered to a homeless person who needs an outfit to wear to a funeral, to a single mom going to a job interview or to a family who lost everything in a fire or other disaster.

Help make lives better by donating your gently used items or by shopping at a Salvation Army Thrift Store near you.
