Disaster Relief Volunteers: The Salvation Army uses trained and credentialed volunteers to provide disaster relief to the community through feeding on canteens (mobile kitchens), distribution of supplies and assisting local emergency management personnel in serving disaster survivors and first responders. Not all disasters are of the large scope witnessed recently with Hurricane Harvey, but it is important to be prepared for all of them. Be ready to mobilize by visiting https://disaster.salvationarmyusa.org, create a volunteer profile and make your availability for future response made known. Required training courses and locations are listed at http://disaster.salvationarmyusa.org/training/.
