Christmas Meal At The Salvation Army…We Are In Need Of Desserts To Serve 400 People

Christmas Dinner At The Salvation Army
No One Has To Be Alone For The Holidays

The Salvation Army invites the Amarillo community to join us for Christmas dinner on Monday December 25, 2017. If you find yourself alone or would love to partake in a Holiday Experience, please join us from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at The Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison Street, Amarillo (Enter at 5th and Harrison door). We will serve a restaurant style dining atmosphere complete with hostesses, a sit-down dinner, servers, and great table conversation. We are in need of home baked desserts to serve about 400 people. On Christmas Day we love for those who dine with us to have options just as most of us do in our own homes during the holidays. If you can’t give of your time that day maybe you can help out by baking a dessert! We would like to have all desserts turned in by Sunday December 25, 2017 (Thursday and Friday from 8:30am–5:00pm at the front office/Saturday & Sunday please drop off desserts to the Women and Family Shelter after 5:00pm).

Remember, if you are looking for a great place to spend Christmas, we would love for you to be a part of our Holiday Experience at The Salvation Army of Amarillo to enjoy the meal or to volunteer! No one has to be alone for the holidays. If you know someone that will be alone, please share this with them! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Help Give A Child Christmas This Year

With the help of our community, The Salvation Army will provide Christmas gifts to over 2,000 children in our area. The community’s partnership is crucial. We have 400 children that have yet to be adopted out at the Westgate Mall and over 600 that have yet to be returned. You can help provide Christmas to a child in need in our community by adopting an angel from our Angel Tree. Stop by during Westgate Mall hours and pick up an angel. Angels can be returned at the Westgate Mall as well before December 17, 2017. Please make sure that no angel is forgotten…because every child deserves a little Christmas.

We Need YOUR Help

 puzzle 2

Christmas has finally ended for The Salvation Army of Amarillo…but our mission has not. The Salvation Army feeds meals and provides shelter for the homeless 365 days a year. With ongoing programs and emergency assistance being provided to the community, The Salvation Army is in need of volunteers and donations (monetary and material donations to our Family Store).

The Salvation Army shelter is in need of volunteers for our computer lab, game nights, craft nights, movie nights, to teach life skills classes, etc. The Salvation Army Family Store has been low on material donations. All proceeds from our Family Store come back to The Salvation Army to provide programs and services to the community. With the continual need for our emergency services with rent, utilities, and the shelter needs, The Salvation Army is always in need of monetary donations.

The Salvation Army Needs YOUR Help To Distribute Angel Tree Gifts

We NEED Volunteers
Help Us With The Last Step To Make Christmas Happen

at

It’s time for our last step to complete our Christmas Assistance Program….distributing gifts to those who wouldn’t have a Christmas without The Salvation Army Angel Tree program. We have over 2,000 children with thousands of gifts to distribute. We need as many organizations, church groups, small business office personnel, etc. to help distribute all of the gifts received from our generous community. On our Distribution Days alone we need a minimum of 50 volunteers PER day. Lastly, after all the gifts have been distributed to families we need help cleaning up! We need people to put bikes together, organize clothes, toys and generally make the Rex Baxter Building a professional distribution center.

PLEASE DON’T FORGET:

Actual Distribution Days – December 19th ,2015 1:00pm – 5:00pm
December 21st, and 22nd, 9:00am-5:00pm

Distribution Cleanup – December 23rd, 9:00am-5:00pm
