The Salvation Army Honored Our Heroes Once Again On National Donut Day

The Salvation Honored Our Heroes Once Again On National Donut Day!

IMG_4009

Captian Sarah Gottlich, along with our Corps Cadets, continued The Salvation Army’s tradition of passing out donuts to our service heroes. In World War I, The Salvation Army Donut Lassies gathered materials and began frying donuts in frying pans and in soldiers’ helmets…and the infamous donuts were created. Thank you to all who have served our country and for “Doing The Most Good” for our country.

The Salvation Army invites the Amarillo community to join us for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday November 26, 2015. If you find yourself alone or would love to partake in a holiday experience, please join us from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the Harrington Hope Center, 400 S. Harrison Street, Amarillo (Enter at 5th and Harrison door). We will serve a restaurant style dining atmosphere complete with hostesses, a sit-down dinner, servers, and great table conversation. If you are looking for a great place to spend Thanksgiving, we welcome you to be a part of our holiday meal at The Salvation Army of Amarillo. No one has to be alone for the holidays.

We are in need of home baked desserts. On Thanksgiving Day we love for those who dine with us to have options just as most of us do in our own homes during the holidays. If you can’t give of your time that day maybe you can help out by baking a dessert! We would like to have all desserts turned in by 12pm Wednesday November 25th, 2015 or at least receive a courtesy call that you will be bringing a dessert.
