The Salvation Army is so excited to be working with Wild 104.3 FM Amarillo, Tommy “The Hacker”, Angel Dee, AND Blazin 105 to collect brand new packages of socks for our Shoe and Sock Program! Beginning this Saturday, July 15th, 2017, at the Walmart on Coulter St from 11:00am – 3:00pm, Tommy “The Hacker”, Angel Dee, Balzin 105, and with our communities support, will stuff “The Hacker Morning Show” bus with brand new packages of socks for children in need right here in Amarillo!!

It’s difficult for parents, whether single or not, to purchase school supplies AND to provide brand new shoes and socks for their continually growing children. Let’s help these parents so they don’t have to decide whether to keep the lights on or whether to make sure their children are adequately prepared to enter the school year with confidence.

Upcoming Stuff The Bus Events:

Walmart Amarillo – E Interstate 40 11:00am -3:00pm

Walmart Amarillo – Canyon Dr 11:00am – 3:00pm

For more information about The Salvation Army’s Programs, services, or to volunteer please contact (806)373-6631. Every $30 will help purchase one child a brand new pair of shoes and socks!! Secure donations can be mailed or dropped off at 400 S. Harrison St. or online at www.salvationarmytexas.org/Amarillo.

 merry-christmas

The Salvation Army invites the Amarillo community to join us for Christmas dinner on Sunday December 25, 2016. If you find yourself alone or would love to partake in a Holiday Experience, please join us from 1pm – 3pm at The Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison Street, Amarillo (Enter at 5th and Harrison door).  We will serve a restaurant style dining atmosphere complete with hostesses, a sit-down dinner, servers, and great table conversation. We are in need of home baked desserts. On Christmas Day we love for those who dine with us to have options just as most of us do in our own homes during the holidays. If you can’t give of your time that day maybe you can help out by baking a dessert! We would like to have all desserts turned in by 5pm Saturday December 24, 2015.

Remember, if you are looking for a great place to spend Christmas, we would love for you to be a part of our Holiday Experience at The Salvation Army of Amarillo. No one has to be alone for the holidays.

It’s time for our last step to complete our Christmas Assistance Program….distributing gifts to those who wouldn’t have a Christmas without The Salvation Army Angel Tree program. We have almost 2,000 children with thousands of gifts to distribute. We need as many organizations, church groups, small business office personnel, etc. to help organize and distribute all of the gifts received from our generous community. On our Distribution Days alone we need a minimum of 50 volunteers PER day. Lastly, after all the gifts have been distributed to families we need help cleaning up!

We need people to put bikes together, organize clothes, toys and generally make the Rex Baxter Building a professional distribution center.

We Believe That Every Child Deserves A Little Christmas

The Salvation Army has offered holiday shoppers the opportunity to make a child’s Christmas dream come true by adopting children through our Angel Tree Program. Each Angel hanging represented a needy child in the Amarillo area who needed to be adopted. The Angel Tree contained about 2,000 Angels draping from our branches this year. All the Angels have been adopted from our trees, now the last step is getting the Angels all returned back to the Angel Tree to prepare for Distribution of the gifts. All gifts must be returned by December 15th unwrapped.
