Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The Salvation Army! The Austin area has thousands of non-profits and we are glad you chose to volunteer with us. Our dedicated team of volunteers play a key role in The Salvation Army’s goal to provide support and the very best social services, to give aid wherever and whenever needed.
You must have an interest in giving back to the community, and be willing and able to work as part of a great team of other volunteers and staff members. Your time and commitment are essential to the success of our organization. You must be 18 years or older to volunteer.
Volunteering at The Salvation Army gives me a sense of purpose. It helps me feel like my presence is needed. It helps me deal with challenges in my own life and to work harder to overcome the things I need to so I can be present for the residents of The Salvation Army.
Volunteering with The Salvation Army has reminded me [that] helping others isn’t about just giving money and moving on.People appreciate time and companionship more than anything and look forward to spending time with someone who can truly give the greatest gift: friendship.
